2D CMOS imager featuring autofocus

OPI3201 barcode scanner from Opticon offers maximum comfort during everyday use

October 2011 – Opticon, a leading manufacturer of auto-ID and data collection equipment, launches the OPI3201, a highly durable, lightweight 2D CMOS imager with autofocus functionality. Thanks to its light weight and the ergonomic design of its pistol grip, the new imager ensures maximum comfort during everyday use, in healthcare, retail, or even event management environments.

Despite its extremely light weight of 80 grams, the OPI3201 is a well balanced device that lies in the hand very comfortably due to its large, ergonomically shaped grip. Built to last, this durable scanner withstands drops onto a concrete floor of up to 1.5 meter.

Its 1.3 megapixel imager provides the versatility needed to read all standard 1D and 2D barcode symbologies from a variety of different angles. Its plug and play functionality permits the user to connect the OPI3201 and start scanning immediately.

In the area of healthcare, the imager is ideally suited for use in pharmacies to track patient records. When used in retail, the OPI3201 provides efficiency in key areas like item identification, price checking, mobile couponing, and loyalty card identification.

The ruggedized imager can also be used for entrance control applications, to track leads or capture visitor data at events and trade fairs.
